The BOP High Power MG, MGL, ME and MEL Models’ display is a 4.7-inch color LCD that provides both analog and digital representations of the actual BOP output. Instead of the virtual meters (shown above), the display can output a graphic timeline that samples the output and refreshes the screen with a time base of 75, 30, 15, 7.5, 3.8, 1.5, 0.8, 0.3, 0.15, 0.08 or 0.04 seconds.
Various BOP functions are accessed by soft keys. The right side of the display identifies the action associated with the five function keys. A HELP key provides an explanation of the display as well as descriptions of the soft function keys for any of the submenus, as well as the common causes for reported errors.
At the bottom the LCD shows the setting values for the BOP. The main channel is displayed along with the appropriate protection limits. For both voltage or current protection limits either a single value can be entered that applies to both positive and negative protection, or a pair of values can be entered which allow separate control over positive and negative protection limit.
Locally, either the rotary encoder ADJUST knob or the digital keypad may control the output. Rotation of the ADJUST knob will increment or decrement the highlighted digits. For the main channel value it will change the sign after reaching zero. Depressing the ADJUST knob while rotating will increment or decrement the least significant digit, providing easy control over small changes in the output. Arrow keys on the keypad highlight menu selections, or the active parameter to be adjusted. Changes in output level using the ADJUST knob are immediately available at the output.
The numeric keys on the keypad also may be used for entry of values into the settings. When entering values from the keypad, the setting is applied to the output only after the ENTER key is depressed. The MODE key toggles the BOP’s main channel between voltage and current mode.
