Kepco's BOP bipolar power supplies are fully controllable via either GPIB or RS 232 protocols by means of a factory-installed BIT 4886 card which is 16-bit with resolution of 1/216. The BOP/BIT 4886 combination offers Talk-listen support for the IEEE 488.2 bus using SCPI commands/queries.

The BOP communicates as a stand-alone instrument, directly on the GPIB. The BOP can also be programmed over the RS232C bus using either SCPI or CIIL commands via either an RS232-C terminal, or from a PC using a terminal emulation program with a baud rate of 9600, no parity, eight data bits and one stop bit. A downloadable driver supports digital calibration (no manual pots) and multiple control and read back ranges which are incorporated into the digital interface. NOTE: The BOP with GPIB/RS 232 control is compatible with National Instruments standard 488-HS.

When connecting BOP with BIT 4886 cards installed in parallel or series, the slave BIT card must be disabled; refer to refer to BOP Application Note: How to Disable BIT card in BOP models with BIT 802E or 4886 cards installed or in BOP 2X-DE Models for instructions as well as how to maintain digital control over a parallel/series combination.
