VXI Plug&Play Compliant Software
Kepco, Inc. announced that it is shipping VXI plug&play compliant software. Mark Kupferberg, Vice President of Engineering
and
Manufacturing said,
"I believe Kepco, Inc. is the very first power supply vendor to ship VXI plug&play certified drivers. They are in
the box, provided free of additional charge to purchasers of Kepco's VXI interface instrument: model TMA
VXI-27.
"
The VXI plug&play alliance was formed nearly two years ago to devise standards to allow VXI instrumentation from various
vendors to work
together seamlessly. Kepco, Inc. joined the alliance in April 1994 and undertook to develop compliant software drivers for the
54 different
power supply models that can be linked to VXI.
"The standards were not fully formed when we began this project,
" Mark Kupferberg stated. "We had to work closely with the alliance
founders, National, Tektronix et al, to tailor the software to the evolving standards. Now we have done it and are shipping. Kepco's software includes virtual panels for type BOP, MST, MAT, and MBT power supplies which range in power up to 1000 watts."
The VXI plug&play systems alliance has published an info CD. Kepco, Inc. has a very interesting interactive
demo
program
contained
within this CD. Information is also provided on the CD about all of the Kepco Power Supplies that are compatible with VXI.
A copy of this CD may be obtained by request directed to Frank Toich, National Sales Manager.
